LinkedIn Features that I like - 3

The Network view from LinkedIn has a "feel good" factor. It shows you how large is your network.

The detailed geographic data provides information about fastest growing regions, some of the often missed region as well as recently added regions to your network. This is the portion of the site, which may get nicely integrated with Google Maps.

Should Google buy LinkedIn and Plaxo?

I think Google should buy LinkedIn and Plaxo (and Merge them Both).
Why?

• Orkut from Google is a very laid back platform, it should still remain as is, free and for users who do not need extensive features
• LinkedIn would be like Orkut for Pro - Lot of Extra Features and serious networking
• Plaxo and LinkedIn together make lot of sense. Read more at http://www.brutalclarity.com/index.php/weblog/more/plaxo_and_linkedin_should_merge/. Plaxo has already created a plugin for linkedIn.
• Plaxo is sometimes too intrusive. A flair of LinkedIn would make it simpler and easier to work with.
• Google is a technology company as well as about User created Content - After all That's what LinkedIn and Plaxo are.. Technology with User Created Content.

Another Feature that I find interesting is "Who's Viewed my profile". As of writing this, the feature is still in BETA. I would really like, if LinkedIn will show name of one of the person who viewed my profile. After all, if people find the feature useful, they would go and pay for it.

One of the LinkedIn Feature that I like the is LinkedIn's Microsoft Outlook Toolbar. Not only does it help you harvest your contacts from emails, but it also notifies you of changes in their details.

Take a look at one of the snippet. I can see information about updates for existing contacts, I can also see new contacts who accepted my invitation to join LinkedIn.

It is also a great tool for people like me, who may not want to build networks, but just want to keep existing one alive...
